What is DTF printing?
DTF printing is also called direct film printing. It uses digital direct printing to print ink directly on PET film. The hot melt powder is evenly sprinkled on the surface of the ink through a powder shaker. After heating in an oven, the hot melt powder can be evenly combined with the ink. Then the pattern can be directly transferred to the clothing fabric through a transfer machine.

The print speed of DTF printers varies depending on the model, number of print heads, and print mode (such as high-precision mode, high-speed mode). Generally speaking, entry-level single-printer models may print 3-6 square meters per hour, and multi-printer industrial-grade models can reach 15-30 square meters per hour or even higher. For example, a model equipped with 4 Epson I3200 print heads can print about 20 square meters per hour in high-speed mode.
Most high-quality DTF printers can achieve a printing accuracy of 1440dpi (dots per inch) or even higher. High-precision printing can make the details of the pattern clearer and the color transition more natural, meeting the requirements of different customers for printing quality. For example, when making fine clothing patterns or high-quality advertising materials, high printing accuracy can bring better results.
Common DTF printers have various sizes, such as 60cm, 80cm, and 100cm.
The life of the nozzle is affected by many factors, such as frequency of use, ink quality, maintenance, etc. Generally speaking, the nozzles of well-known brands such as Epson can work for about 1-2 years under normal use. However, if it is properly maintained to avoid problems such as nozzle blockage and drying, its life may be longer; on the contrary, if it is used improperly, the nozzle may be damaged prematurely.
