What is DTF printing?
DTF printing is also called direct film printing. It uses digital direct printing to print ink directly on PET film. The hot melt powder is evenly sprinkled on the surface of the ink through a powder shaker. After heating in an oven, the hot melt powder can be evenly combined with the ink. Then the pattern can be directly transferred to the clothing fabric through a transfer machine.

Epson i3200-A1
The DTF 7070-3 printer is equipped with dual Epson i3200-A1 inkjet print heads, which support up to 600dpi output accuracy. It realizes a high-density nozzle array (600dpi/double row) to ensure a compact and durable printing structure. Epson’s unique variable ink drop technology effectively reduces the graininess of the picture, presenting smooth gradients and rich detail levels.

Nozzle Anti-Collision
Both sides of the printing carriage (carriage head) are equipped with independent anti-collision mechanisms. When the printing medium (such as fabric) has protrusions due to wrinkling or poor adsorption, the anti-collision mechanism will first contact the protrusions and trigger displacement, linking the internal micro switch to instantly generate a stop signal. The printing carriage is forced to brake urgently to achieve zero-contact protection of the core components of the printhead.

White Ink Mixing System
The built-in white ink stirring system ensures that the white ink flows evenly without agglomeration or precipitation. It effectively prevents the nozzle from being blocked due to ink precipitation and prolongs the service life of the nozzle.

Air-Cooled Solid System
COLORIDO’s DTF powder shaker integrates a centrifugal cooling fan set at the end of the drying tunnel, so that the membrane surface temperature drops from 70°C to below 35°C in 8 seconds. This process realizes instantaneous solidification of the hot melt powder crystal structure, completely eliminating the risk of adhesion in high-temperature molten powder.

The print speed of DTF printers varies depending on the model, number of print heads, and print mode (such as high-precision mode, high-speed mode). Generally speaking, entry-level single-printer models may print 3-6 square meters per hour, and multi-printer industrial-grade models can reach 15-30 square meters per hour or even higher. For example, a model equipped with 4 Epson I3200 print heads can print about 20 square meters per hour in high-speed mode.
Most high-quality DTF printers can achieve a printing accuracy of 1440dpi (dots per inch) or even higher. High-precision printing can make the details of the pattern clearer and the color transition more natural, meeting the requirements of different customers for printing quality. For example, when making fine clothing patterns or high-quality advertising materials, high printing accuracy can bring better results.
Common DTF printers have various sizes, such as 60cm, 80cm, and 100cm.
The life of the nozzle is affected by many factors, such as frequency of use, ink quality, maintenance, etc. Generally speaking, the nozzles of well-known brands such as Epson can work for about 1-2 years under normal use. However, if it is properly maintained to avoid problems such as nozzle blockage and drying, its life may be longer; on the contrary, if it is used improperly, the nozzle may be damaged prematurely.
